Book Review of Solaris Seethes by Janet McNulty

Solaris Seethes is book one in the Solaris Saga by Janet McNulty.  This is a delightful science fiction novel that grabs your attention on the first page.  This book was published in 2014 by Lulu.  This is a great science fiction book to read if you are tired of reading about vampires and werewolves.

What would you do if you found out that the love of your life was the one who destroyed your planet? Rynah, wants revenge against her ex-fiancĂ©, Klanor, after he destroys her planet. Rynah barely escapes with her life as she and her ship, Solaris escapes the destruction. On the ship, Solaris tells her about the prophesy that predicted the situation. Rynah and four unlikely heroes, are going after Klanor before he collects all six crystals that will make him powerful and enable him to destroy planets.  Each of the four heroes come from different time periods. It’s a race against time, can Rynah with the help of Alfric, Solon, Brie and Tom get to the crystals before Klanor and save the planets?

What I love about this space adventure is that the main character is a woman.  Rynah is a strong character.  Most of the science adventure books have a male as the main character. It is nice to read a book where it’s a woman.  All of the main characters fit together perfectly.  The characters development throughout the book. There are morals in this book. And you can see this as you read the book.

Another thing that I like about this book is that it is an easy read. Even though there are 460 pages, it is fast paced. Before you know it, you are finished reading the book. To me, this book is a blend of several movies like Star Wars and Star Trek.  It is a mixture of both with its space ship, different planets, and being able to teleport.  I also like that there is no vulgar language or sexuality in this book.  It is written perfectly.

There was nothing about this book that I didn’t like.  I normally don’t read science fiction but by reading this novel, I have changed my mind.

Overall, I rate this book a 4 out of 4 stars.  While reading this book, I couldn’t find any major mistakes in grammar or punctuation.  I gave these 4 stars because it caught my attention and I had to keep reading until I finished. I can’t wait to read the next book in this saga to find out what happens.  I believe that teenagers and young adults who love adventure, space or science fiction novels will love this book.
