I am reading an
interesting non-fiction book, VerAegis
Relationships: Live Beyond Your Comfort Zone
by James M. Haden. This is book 1 of a three-part
series. The other books include,
VerAegis-Contributions, VerAegis-Spirit, and VerAegis-Lifeline. The author wrote this book using his
experiences while balancing his family with his work life. According to James, “the
key to our effectiveness and ultimately our happiness is responding to life in
a manner that balances relationships, contribution and spirit.” He is right.
We do need a balance in our life or we won’t be effective.
He does mention why he named his book VerAegis and he
explains the other three books that he has written. He touches on many relationships and he uses
his own experience, research and Bible verses to get his points across. This book talks about what motivates us; His
Actions- Her Actions as a couple; the emotional maturity; manage thought from
the parent, adult and child; effective thinking; different situations require
different thoughts; being a family; raising strong sons and daughters; and the
crazy cycle of parent-child. The author conveys ways that we can change our
relationships.
I love reading self-help books because there is always something
that I can do to improve in my life. And
this book is perfect because it is on relationships. I love reading self-help books when the
author uses his experiences with that of his research. Another wonderful thing about this book is
that it is well researched, compact and concise. It all comes together to make
a fantastic book that we as readers can read and understand.
