Yesterday by Samyann book review

If you love a good time travel romance, then you will love the 570-page e-book, Yesterday: A Novel of Reincarnation by Samyann. This book was published by Samyann on January 20, 2013. This book is also available in a 404-page paperback.

Samyann is a Chicago native, who is interested in the history of her city as well as a fascination of the past, present, and future. This led her to write this book which took 9 months to write.

Yesterday is a novel that takes you to the edge of your seat. Have you ever felt like you knew someone the first moment you met them? This book is about Amanda and Mark, who met when Amanda saved Mark's life. They both felt like they knew each other but didn't know how. As they delve into the past, they find out that they escaped the American Civil War with a slave couple who loved them and what they went through in the Great Chicago Fire of 1871. Can Mark convince Amanda that she can love again even though she has lost before? This book is a historical romance novel that expands time from the present to the past.

The main characters are Amanda, who works for a company Plethora, which appraises valuable antiques and publishes a magazine. Mark is a police officer, who rides a horse called Boomerang. His partner is Pete. They patrol the city on their horses. Mary is Amanda's godmother and the older sister of her mother. She is also a psychologist. Mary took care of Amanda and her brother when their parents died. The other main character is Oprah, Amanda's black cat. All the characters were believable and likable. You can relate to all the characters. Amanda evoked the most sympathy because, throughout the novel, you can understand why she is afraid to love Mark. She is afraid that she will lose him like all of the others she lost.

I enjoyed reading this book from the first moment. One of the reasons why I liked it was that it was easy to follow and to understand when the book kept going back to the past. The author wrote it in a way that you knew when it was going to happen. Another thing that I loved about this book was that even though it was fiction some of it was based on facts. The author wrote a section at the end with some of the references that she used and what they meant. While reading this book, I found that there was nothing that I didn't love about it.

I rate this book, 4 out of 4 stars. I gave this rating because it captivated me from the beginning. While reading this book, I didn't notice any mistakes. I believe this book would appeal to all kinds of readers. This would definitely appeal to readers who love romance, religion, spirituality, reincarnation, time travel, history, fantasy, and science fiction books.
